FYI -----
Hello, I'm Greta Thompson, a candidate for the position of an NWPL-CC
position on the USGenWeb Advisory Board.
Like many of you, I'd prefer to focus on my counties and my local project
and shut out the storms swirling in and around the project. Who needs it?
Not you, not me. I'll do the best I can in my little corner, and that's
enough.
Only it isn't. If we don't speak up, we let the cynics dominate. We give
prominence to the negative and the divisive. We need better things to listen
to and think about, and those positive, motivating, community-making words
and, more importantly, actions have to come from us.
That's why, when I was hoping to settle comfortably into my rocking chair
for a few quiet years, I'm runnng for a place on the AB. If things are going
to get better, I can't say, "Yeah, go for it, I'll be cheering from the
sidelines." And I can't say, "Okay, okay, I'll do it." I can only
say,
"I'll try to do my part, but you have to help too."
The first thing we can do together is vote. I'd welcome your vote and the
opportunity to serve on the AB. But whoever you vote for, just be sure you
do vote.
Greta
