A few years ago I did some classes for a 4-H group. This is a pretty
simplistic outline of what I did. Most of it is in my head and not
on paper. Maybe this will help with some ideas.

Vocabulary:
Genealogy-- (Gk genea race, family + logia study of) an account
of the descent of a person, family or group from a common ancestor
surname-- 1. an added name derived from occupation or other
circumstance. 2. the name in common by members of a family.
maiden name-- surname of woman before she married.
given name-- name given to an individual.
ancestor-- one from whom a person is descended usually further away
than a grandparent
progenitor-- an ancestor in the direct line FOREFATHER
sibling(s)-- one of two or more individuals sharing a common parent—
a brother(s) or sister(s) or both.
generation-- 1. a body of living beings constituting a single step
in the line of descent from an ancestor 2. a group of individuals
born and living contemporaneously 3. a group having contemporary
status that is held for only a short time.
pedigree-- (MF pie de grue crane's foot fr. the shape made by the
lines in a genealogical chart) an ancestral line—LINEAGE
paternal-- having to do with father
maternal-- having to do with mother
descendants-- children, progeny, offspring

This is Mary from Musselshell. I am putting together some
simple "Lesson Plans" for school age children. Our theme, for the
Musselshell Historical Museum, this year is "Families remember
when. . . ". I put a blerb in the local paper offering my
