Kevin, Karen, et al.
Oh my, then my spot has got something wrong--
it was utterly and totally empty before I copied up my files. :-)
Am I the only one? :-)
I deleted all my files (i recognized them all as mine!)
So, I'll wait till it gets put normal.
755 is unix permissions by number--everyone can read and execute the
file
(I can check boxes or type a number)
but I see this service is obviously relieves me of needing to mess
with that-- when gets working properly? The rootsweb server
was that way-- but with our server, I have to manage permissions--
but we can also run programs to search our own data and logging.
I guess that is the trade off! :-)
Maybe in a day or two things will settle out.
I see server update warnings. :-)
Thanks

Karen has explained it correctly. Follow her directions and it
should work. As for the additional files, I was told to leave them
be.

No you don't need a public html file. There is already an
index.htm
file when you sign in which you have referenced in your message. You
will replace that one.
On your FTP the host should read
beaverhead.mtgenweb.org, I don't know
how the ftp: address works but going into
beaverhead.mtgenweb.org you
will be in the root directory and there will be an index.htm file.
Just
replace that one with YOUR index file after you have loaded all your
supporting folders and files. I was wondering about all the other
files
in the root file that are no longer used since I have uploaded
Glacier.
Kevin, can we delete all of those?
Boy I am no expert but the bottom line is you need to replace that
index
with YOUR Beaverhead index for it to work. Have no idea what 755
is. LOL
Hope this is of some help??
