Good evening MTGenWeb,
Evidently the hacker that has been playing havoc with the USGenWeb
site and then WIGenWeb has hacked their way into MTGenWeb earlier.
Joy caught a php file in our logos directory that traces to China.
She has deleted it and will dissect it. I have given her free rein to
immediately delete any threatening files and if she deletes something
benign, I would rather upload another than take a chance of actually
getting infected. Joy has likened this file to a door being cut into
our house and propped open for later havoc. No items were taken or
destroyed thus far but she has now nailed the door shut. We hope this
hacker is kept out of MT from now on.
Additionally when I signed in to this gmail account, I cannot access
the normal gmail. I am using the basic html version at the moment. I
wonder if Google is being hit as well?
The following was the note that was posted for forwarding on the State
Coordinator list. Please don't panic but if you don't have to upload
anything right now to the server, you might want to wait for a time
until we get an all clear. Karen

The hacker that has played havoc with the USGenWeb National site and
some of the other Project sites is still at it. We thought we'd
tracked down all of the files, but we seem to have missed at least
one. Please let your Project volunteers know of the problem and urge
caution.
When we have things under control, I'll let everyone know.
Thanks,
Sherri Bradley
