Subject: Re: [MTGEN] SC Election
We here at Beaverhead are not much for bureaucracy but certainly
there must be order and legitimacy. But to put it in a bit of a
jocular manner, it sounds like with no nominations nor volunteers to
run against you, you are unanimously accepted for the next term. :-)
What is the alternative? disband Montana GenWeb? Whatever
formalities are in place, required, or deemed expedient, get them out
of the way forthwith to facilitate providing free genealogy resources
to the public with as little folderol as practical.
Do the bylaws offer any help for this situation?
I move that if nobody declares a voluntary commitment to throw their
hat in the ring by Dec 1, then the election chairman declare on this
list, that the uncontested position is filled. Then initiate a roll-
call vote asking for either support of the decision-- OR any opposed
to state their reservations, together with a declaration if they
believe their reservations are sufficient to impede Karen from
filling the office, and if so, their proposal of action to be taken.
It would seem it should all be settled by Saturday, Dec 5 unless
there should come some pretty significant unforeseen issue.

Hello MTGenWeb,
My term is technically over on Dec 1 but the seat will not be vacated
until an election is held. I haven't received any feedback about
anyone running. If you would like to run please let at least Nancy
know before the end of the day tomorrow. I have previously thrown my
hat in the ring and I am still a candidate. Once we know who is
running we can decide how you wish to hold this election.
