Hi Jim,
I hadn't heard that. I would be happy as soon as I can get in to
remove the counter from MTGenWeb. It is a free counter so you might
be right and that may be a way they can get in that I wasn't aware of.
I will let Sherri know.
Thanks much,
Karen
PS: I am going to sub Sherri to our list so she gets all the
excellent information you all provide, right away. Additionally I
will be out of the country Dec 7-15 but with internet access
periodically. Nancy will be in charge will I am gone but I will be
able to be involved in discussions, just not any uploading until I get
home. I am going to Ireland if anyone has any Irish roots that need
something from the Emerald Isle.

I noticed that the MTGenWeb page uses a widget hit counter. I'm pretty
old-school, and I tend to mistrust anything that allows a third-party
connection. I know widgets abound these days, but from their inception
there have been security professionals who warn against their
vulnerability to hackers. I believe there are hit counters that can be
embedded and that don't call to an outside site.
Just me being paranoid.......
