Hi all,
I've received a progress report from Suzan Kinsey-Cartwright
kinsey(a)midrivers.com
(Golden Valley CC) re: her blood clots. As most of you know, she's been
bedridden (or chair-ridden <G>) for some time now due to severe clots. She
still manages to check her email as her family has rigged that for her.
Her progress has been very slow. Ultrasounds Monday showed her left leg
has absorbed most of the clots from the knee down, but she's still blocked
from the knee to the groin. That will take another month or so to clear,
the doc says.
Due to pain and discoloration in her right leg, she had a cat scan which
found that she had a muscle bleed because of the coumadin she's takihng for
the clots in the other leg!! She's now using heat on one leg and ice on
the other. She may need Vitamin K shots if that doesn't help, then will
possibly need to start coumadin again.
Other tests, gratefully, show no disease or abnormality, which is good
news. I've given her my best "motherly lecture" about not worrying about
the holidays, but giving her family the best gift she can give them.... a
healthy Suzan! It's tough for her to stay down as she's a real 'mover
and shaker', but I think she's being a good girl. <G>
Thought you'd all like to know so that you can keep her in your prayers.
