Great job, Vicki. This is very aggravating. Does this appear at the top
of each of your pages even if they access via your site? If not, I'd like
to know how you may have arranged for it to go to that page when they try
to access your stuff, but not when they go to it from your site.
Thanks a million for sharing.

Tee-hee. I'm having fun with these bozos! Family Discovery stole
alot of my
Colorado data. No if someone logs into familydiscovery and then goes to the
link they stole from me, they get an interesting message: Check it out.

Also, I have sent the following letter to the Iowa Attorney General:
Dear Iowa Attorney General:
I am writing you to advise you that two people in Iowa are defrauding people
all over the United States. Their names are Brad Cook and Elias Abodeey and
further details about how to contact them are listed at the bottom of this
email. Here is what they are doing:
1. They registered the internet domain name
www.familydiscovery.com
2. They then designed a website in which they represent that they have all
kinds of genealogical research in most, if not all of the country. They
charge a fee $49.95 and $79.99 for a "membership". Once you pay the
membership you can click on links that lead you to genealogical data.
However the data is stolen.
3. What they are doing is linking data that another person created on
another website. They are "shrink wrapping" this data in their browser
frame. In otherwords, they are presenting the stolen data as their own.
4. Let me give you an example. I transcribed the 1870 Summit County,
Colorado Federal Census. I placed this transcription on a website that I
run, which people can view for FREE. I own the copyright. That information
can be viewed on my site <A
HREF="http://members.aol.com/vikkigray">Ghostseeke
rs</A> .
5. I am not a member of
FamilyDiscovery.com so I cannot get to their site
through their main page. However a "backdoor" into the site has been
discovered in which you can see what they are doing. That address is http://
128.121.230.66/Records/states/colorado.htm
Then scroll to the bottom and click on the last link which goes to 1870
Summit County Census.
6. To see the scope of information that they are stealing from honest people
all over the country - just replace "colorado" in the address above with iowa
or ohio or other state names.
7. Just as an aside: Many members of the US GenWeb Project complained to the
FamilyDiscovery.com's Internet Service Provider about this theft. That ISP
shut them down. 2 days later they are back again on a different server.
They have not reloaded their entire site yet, so you will encounter some
broken links.
Please shut them down! If you need any further information you can email me.
Thanks, Vikki Gray
