Okay, you "computer experts", can you help Joan with this? Since I've
always put everything into Rootsweb where there is a search engine, I have
no idea how to help her.
Joan... it's so neat that you are doing this. I hope someone less 'dense'
than I can help out with this.
By the way, anything I've uploaded from Excel, I sent to Elizabeth Burns
and she changed it into a text file before she put it into the Archives. I
have also just saved some of the stuff I've had in Excel as Text and used
it online that way.

Thank you Larry, Betty and Corky for responding to my request. Larry,
I do
like what you have done with Fallon County. I may be a little dense, but
Corky, I'm having a little problem visualizing how to upload an Excel
file. I'm more used to dealing with text files, obviously. <g> At any
rate, I am coming up with a plan. I do have one more question/request. In
my searching, I notice that many state (and some county sites) archives
are installing search engines. How difficult is that and is it something
Montana could do? I feel more comfortable uploading data bases like the
census if I know a searcher can just plug in a name.
