Hi everyone,
Well, the voting period is up, (with a couple of extra days for good measure), and it was
a good experience as far as getting my records updated as well. Sending a second (and in
some cases a third) email to a few of the non-reponsive CC's yielded some new email
addresses I hadn't recorded. Also, I found a couple of CC's who weren't even
subscribed to MTGEN-L! At least my list got updated.
There are 13 CC's/Assistance CC's who did not respond to the posting on MTGEN-L or
to any private emails. A number of these are normally very active and do a great job of
keeping up their sites. I can assume these people are 'out of town', temporarily
offline, ill, or whatever. I sure hope to hear from them soon so I know they're all
right!
Our CC's, Assistant CC's, Archives Manager, and State CC's total 40
individuals!
Of the 27 responses, the vote was:
Yes - 25
No - 2
We also had responses from two subscribers to MTGEN-L who are not volunteers with the
project. Their vote was 1-yes, 1-no.
I need to clarify here that a majority of the "yes" votes clarified that both
disclaimers need to be on the site, i.e.
1. The researchers aren't endorsed in any way by USGenWeb/MTGenWeb, and researchers
need to check carefully whom they hire, and
2. An attempt should be make to find the material they need within the "free"
genealogical resources and data on the internet.
Thanks a million for participating, friends.
