Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Karen,
It was my mistake as it use HTML and they had HTM and it loaded the
HTM index file so I got rid of it and OK now. Also have Blaine
County uploaded and in process of doing Phillips County so should be up later.
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
It comes up under www.hill.mtgenweb.org until is populates which takes about
24 hours, it then will come up without using www. Looks fine from this
end. Shows last update at 14 November.
Great job!

Hi Jackie,
Yes it should be the same. Don't worry about that broken link until we get
the photo project back online.

For Sweet Grass and Stillwater Counties - I wait patiently for the passwords. I thank those who went through the files scouring - profusily I thank them. My house isn't that clean. :-) As for the elections - we, hopefully, are over a couple of humps: stability in a server and in administration. I appreciate Karen and Nancy and all the work they have done. With a couple of years of mentoring, maybe someone new can learn and get comfortable with the skills needed to be a state co-ordinator.
Joan Shurtliff,
patiently waiting for passwords.
I have Carbon County uploaded and have one "bad" link - for the Photo
Archives. Is that going to have the same URL?

Yes, that is what you will see until the counties are uploaded again. And
yes you will need to get new log in information for the new server. Sherri
was supposed to have started sending out the new log in information
yesterday. I have not received my counties yet as I think most of the rest
of us haven't. I will write again to get them sent out.
As an example of the change: My FTP host name used to be mtgenweb.org, NOW
the host name is web942.ixwebhosting.com. The User ID is the same ie:
mtgenweb for the state pages and I have a new Password. I think I got the
state pages fully operational but if anyone sees something missing, please
let me know. Nancy I will send the new info to you here in a bit.
Thank you so much for your vote of confidence Suzanne!

Karen,
When I went to my Silver Bow page I got a log-in page headed with Parallels
H-Sphere. Should this happen?
Your email indicated that we could start uploading our pages again, but do we
need to wait for new login in information? What will others see when they go
to www.silverbow.mtgenweb.org? I get the same thing when I click on my pages
from the MTGenweb.org page. I'm a little confused. Can you clear this up for
me? I've had people ask me what is going on so I know they are trying to get
to my pages and I'm not sure what I should say to them at this point.
BTW, I hope that you run again. I appreciate all you (and the others) are
doing, and I think you deserve a full term. You've got my vote.

The state site is online and populated so showing up at mtgenweb.org.
I am making some of the changes that we needed so let me know if you
need anything different posted for you. Ann I am changing Powder
River, do you have Prairie moved?? Let me know.
As for our county sites, we should have or be getting our new sign in
information any time now. It is a vastly different host name but it
sure is working well, it is fast AND doesn't knock me off if I am
editing a page before I upload it. I am hoping this is the answer to
our prayers and all will be good for now one.
On another note we need to think about our bi-annual election. I
fulfilled the remainder of Kevin's two year term which ends Dec. 1. I
would like to run again but also encourage someone else to run if they
think they are ready to take the helm. You all undoubtedly know some
of the requirements of being SC after this past year. Please feel

Thanks much and keep us posted on how you are faring getting your
sites back online. Please feel free to ask for assistance if you are
overwhelmed. Cleve I don't think it is going to take you two weeks to
get your site up. LOL

Morning everyone,
Apparently we have moved servers although still with the same webhosting
service. I was given the log in information this morning, sucessfully
logged in and uploaded the state page but it is not showing up if I use
either mtgenweb.org or www.mtgenweb.org. The host name is vastly different
so I am waiting for an answer from Sherri. I had no ongoing emails telling
me this was going to happen so I was clueless until this morning. Hang
tight for more updates.

Karen:
I'm staying put on Rootsweb. I haven't had any problems there and I would like to keep it that way.

I have reported to Sherri but was unable to report on a couple few counties
as I hadn't from everyone. Nancy Estes and Rose Wyman I haven't seen a
message from either of you. I have asked for your sites to be copied if
deleting becomes necessary but I would like to know if you have copies too.
Joan, I know Dan said Valley was good and I told Sherri that I thought you
too had copies of your counties. Can you confirm that?
Jim I have sent your questions to Sherri to see if we can get an answer.
Based on a lengthy email today, it seems that someone at IX must have mucked
up and tried to hide but we are now in contact with the head of the company
and will get it taken care of once and for all.
Thanks everyone,

Thank you Colleen and everyone. I will report to Sherri now that I
know most everyone has responded they have clean copies. Vikki,
Missoula is on Rootsweb so you don't have to worry about this unless
you have decided to move back to mtgenweb.org??

It is not necessary for any of our CCs to email Sherry, I am taking
care of all the mtgenweb.org CCs in my emails with her.
Thanks much,
Karen

We'll provide each CC information on the course of action we're going to

Lewis & Clark and Madison counties are clean as they are not on the
MTGenWeb server.
