Well, I think I am back. My computer is finally running, my monitor is
crackling but is still with us and the funeral for the printer was yesterday.
Seems that Electricians don't use "electrical tape" anymore, heck they
think "Duct tape" will work on wires and things. After replacing most of
the wiring and a few breakers, my lights don't go dim everytime my HD does
something and I can actually go online!!! Oh joy.
But Guys, it just has not been my week for the last several. While having
electrical problems in my apartment. My car decided that it was NOT
getting the attention it deserved. So after my transmission sensor died
and had to be replaced, my Battery decided that it no longer wanted to work
either. But when taken to test it, it showed good only to wait a few days
and die again. After pitching a "linda hissy" in Walmart, I now have a new
battery!
Don't start laughing yet, it only gets better! My boss decided that she
had to get married the Friday AFTER Thanksgiving, which is the busiest day
in the Call Center Industry. Ok, fine. But then she decided that She
doesn't need to work but half days until then. Those half days are spent
trying to see how crazy she can make her new Office Manager (Me) without
the OM going out of her mind...
Then there was today. Now keep in mind because of the above wedding I have
busted butt trying to get ahead. the schedule is made and posted until Dec
1, all the payables are done until Dec 5 AND Billing doesn't start until
Nov 28. So I decided I could take off earlier today and do some much
needed shopping, since BOTH her Bachelorette Party and Taylor's 4th
Birthday Party are tomorrow. So I leave 2 hours early and head for
Walmart. So there I am in the middle of the toy section when my cell
phone rings. The voice on the other ends says "Hey, Linda, we smell
something electrical burning, should we call the Fire Department?" I told
them Yes, and I was on my way. I left my buggy in Toys and headed back to
the office. Halfway to my car I decided I better call the owner and tell
her that we might have a weeeee problem. Then the phone rings again and
the voice says " they are evacuating the building but it's 5pm and everyone
is checking out, do we need to go???" After reminding them that Fire can
kill and they really needed to listen to the nice fireman, I sped to the
office. I got there to find out that the office next door had a smoldering
Mattress ( mattress in an office, am I the only one who sees something odd
about this????) which had filled our office with smoke. I had one operator
suffering from smoke inhalation (she's fine) and 3 very scared and upset
operators. But after 30 mins they allowed us to get back in and all is
well except I lost 10 more years and have 50 more grey hairs than I had
this morning. What a week.
Anyway, I am back and if I missed anything in the jillion emails I
downloaded, please resend.
Linda
