Hi, Folks -
As you all know, when you adopt a county one of the first things you have
to do is to change the name of the former CC, to your name. Many of us use
auto find/replace programs to do that.
However, be aware there may be some items on some pages that should be left
in the former CC's name. A couple of examples are queries and surnames
submitted by the former CC, and original files/photos copyrighted by the
former CC. Even if the former CC leaves, he still retains copyright on
original material.
If you think your county might have been susceptible to an overly-inclusive
find/replace procedure, please do a quick check of the pages to make sure
the appropriate name/ID has not been inadvertently switched to your
name. If needed, I'll try to help you track down a name and current ID for
the former CC.
Thanks!
Ellen
