This is a very difficult and emotional letter for me to write. I have
tried every way possible to get out of having to write it but I can't.
As most of you know I started a new position at work several months
ago. Not only did I change from nights to days, I picked up more
responsibility than I thought was in the world! I am also trying to get
settled from my move and last but not least, Greg and I plan to get married
sometime after the first of the year. All this had made it necessary for
me to cut back somewhere in my life.
I have also gotten some leads in my research that I had given up on and I
need to take the time to follow up on them. I will be 38 in February and I
am not getting any younger!
Since early 1997 I have put my heart and soul into MSGW, both as a CC and
as SC. However, I have not kept up the last few months like I should and I
feel guilty if I do anything for myself because I am neglecting my
responsibilities. Not only am I neglecting my poor counties but the state
and you the CC's as well.
Therefore, effective January 30, 2001 I am resigning my position as SC for
MSGW and as CC for Rankin and Warren Counties, and will leave the MSGW and
USGW project.
I want you to know that you are the greatest bunch of people I have EVER
had the privilege of being associated with and that I love each and
everyone of you. I have met many of you either via phone or in person and
have the greatest respect for each of you. I would not trade the last 4
years for anything.
But I am not dropping off the face of the earth and I will always be an
email or a phone call away. I feel like you guys are my extended family
and this is probably as painful as leaving home the first time.
Thank you for everything.
Always,
Linda
