Subject: Resignation
Linda,
I wanted to send this to you personally because you and I have discussed
some of the things that are requiring us to cut back on commitments and
obligations.
I am formally requesting that a CC be found to replace me as CC of
Prentiss County - Genconnect Boards and Mailing List as quickly as
possible.
I also need to be replaced as ASC.
As you know, when I retired I felt I would have plenty of time to
continue with MSGenWeb. However, that is not the case.
It is with heavy heart that I must render my resignation. For the time
being, I will remain and try to babysit the county until a replacement
can be found. However, by Feb. 15 I will be snowed under and not able
to continue.
Since retiring, I have become actively involved with the remodeling of
our home here in Prentiss County, the Prentiss County Genealogy &
Historical Society, the Burton Community Historical Society and Burton
School (a MS Landmark), writing my own newspaper column, trying in vain
to find the time for personal research. If that were not enough, I have
started my own publishing company - which is going to have me snowed
under Feb. 15 as I will be beginning the first of 2 major publications -
as well as 3 books of my own and the genealogy research books for the
Prentiss County G & H Society.
I have enjoyed being a part of MSGenWeb since the fall of 1996 and have
watched it grow over the last 4 years. It has been a delight to be a
part of the MS gang - and I am thrilled that I have been able to meet a
few of the gang face to face.
I will not drop off the face of the earth - I promise to stay in touch.
Like you, I will always be an email or phone call away.
This is not something that I thought I would ever have to do - but
circumstances do change and we must adjust with each change. As I said,
this is with heavy heart and I wish each and every one of the MS CC's
the very best - and a Happy Holiday Season.
Belinda
