Hi, Folks -
As most of you know, MSGW is providing a table at
the October MSFHS
Genealogy Fair, to be held in Jackson. The
reservation has already been
made, so it's a done deal. :-)
In deciding what material to provide, we thought of
flyers for each
county. We hope that each CC will consider
designing a flyer, running off
some copies, and sending them to Linda by the end of
August. If each CC
handled his own county(ies), the expense should be
minimal. Besides, you
guys know your counties far better than anyone else,
and would know what
best describes your county, and what you would like
to highlight :-)
I've drawn up two thus far, one for Adams, and one
for SW MS Territory. If
you'd like to take a look, I put them online.

To get an idea of what they will look like, use the
print preview option of
your browser.
I took the easy way out, designing these flyers via
Netscape Communicator
in html format, but almost any WP program would
work. A desktop publishing
program would be ideal. I used graphics, but that's
optional.
I plan to print out one quality copy to use as a
master, then have about
200 run off at Kinkos. By running them myself, and
by sticking to black &
white on standard white bond, I can hold the cost to
a minimum. However,
feel free to get really fancy! <g>
If there are any flyers leftover, Linda has
volunteered to drop them off at
libraries, the Archives, etc., so it's unlikely that
any will be wasted.
There are two ways you can get the flyers to Linda.
One is by running the
copies yourself, then mailing the package to Linda.
Second is by sending
the file to Linda as an attachment, then mailing
check to her to cover the
cost of printing.
If you run into problems with design, I'll help all
I can. Unfortunately,
I'm not wealthy enough to have them all printed.
<g>
I realize I'm sending this note rather early, but
this will give everyone
plenty of time to work on the flyers. Let's shoot
for 100% participation!
Thanks,
Ellen
