Sounds like you all had a great time, just wish I could have been there.
As for the cans with no labels, look on the bottom and top of the cans,
sometimes there are clues as to what is in them--Hope this helps Helen

Subject: [MSGEN-L] Jackson Genealogy Fair Round up!!
Now that Ellen is Gone and I can plug my keyboard back in...
The Genealogy Fair was a great success. There were over 400
attendees. MSGW was represented well by Myself, Ellen Pack, Belinda
Houston, Jackie & Kenneth Rhodes, John & Loretta Cain, Carolyn Switzer,
Barb & Daniel Cerveny, Gerald & Tammy Westmoreland at the MSGW Table. Also
at their society tables were Kathy Murray, Syble Emery & Marie Carlton. We
also had some future genealogists in attendance, Bethany Ceveny and Rachel
& Tony Westmoreland. Jackie did a WONDERFUL job on our banner and
tablecloth. Our table was visited by over 200 people, many of whom signed
our guestbook and left email addresses. We passed out hundreds of flyers
and talked with researchers who praised ya'lls hard work. If I heard "I
have ya'll bookmarked" once I heard it a hundred times! Thanks to all of
you for making my job so easy and me so proud to be your SC!
And more thanks goes to the Group of you who decided that I needed a
housewarming gift for my new home. I have to admit, I didn't expect
anything and I was so shocked. Ya'll really shouldn't have....
Life will be interesting here for quite awhile as I am already domestically
challenged and cans without the original labels and boxes with cooking
directions blackened out are going to make it even more challenging. Greg
is already trying to devise a system where we can makes guesses by the
sound the cans make when shaken. Do wish us luck! Teed, you deserve a
special thanks, They mentioned your contribution specifically. Ellen
waited 40 years for someone to pull this on and I do believe that she,
being the instigator also deserves special mention. And Kenneth and John
were the "toteee's" of not only our heavy Genie Fair stuff but they also
moved the basket constantly to keep it out of my sight. Good Job guys!! I
didn't have a clue.
Seriously, WE had loads of fun and MSGW was invited to the Mississippi Swap
meet in April in Raleigh, MS so we are looking forward to it as well as
Next years Genealogy fair here in Jackson. We took pictures and should
have some up as soon as I figure out how to hook the scanner back
up! Thanks again to all of you that sent flyers and came to help. I
enjoyed meeting all of you!
I'll post the URL to pictures as soon as I can.
Linda
