I am so very very sorry to hear about Shirley's illness. The entire family
will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Nate, thank you very much for your consideration to me personally. It is
appreciated.
Please don't feel awkward about your situation. We're all sorta in the same
boat. :-)
I agree, it would appear to be time for the three ASCs to continue with the
election. That would be in accordance with USGW By-Laws, and I know they are
capable, and can handle things quite nicely.
I'll be happy to sit back and await whatever decisions are made.

Hi all,
I just received an e-mail from Shirley who is in the hospital. She suffered
a minor stroke this afternoon. She is doing very well and should be home by
Tuesday. Don't ask me how she got on a computer but she managed to bum
someone's laptop.
She has turned over Lafayette county to William Ward.
I find myself in a terrible awkward position right now realizing that she
appointed the ASC. Her e-mail basically stated that she was done with the
MSGenWeb. Her e-mail address msgenweb(a)juno.com was deleted by her husband
and any messages sent to it will bounce.
I don't feel that it would be appropriate for me to arrange for the
elections (as the ASC) since I myself am a candidate and have not been
active in the project. Melissa, Mike and Kristy who are listed on the
MSGenWeb Contact page as ASC for various aspects should handle this
election. A suggestion (I believe by Ken) was to have the ASC utilize the
USGenWeb Election Committee for the actual "mechanics" of the election.
That is a good idea.
According to Shirley there are two nominees for the SC position:
Ellen Pack - e.j.pack(a)telocity.com
Nathan Zipfel - nate(a)gte.net
The nomination period that Shirley set was through Midnight May 30. Any
other nominations should be sent to the ASC (but not me).
Shirley turned over the mailing lists to me (MSGEN and MSCHAT). I'll
monitor them until the new SC is elected. The new SC will then receive the
lists.
I wish to give Ellen a free voice in posting to the mailing list since she
is a candidate for the position of SC. She is no longer moderated on this
list. I also just subscribed her to the chat list. It wouldn't be
appropriate for me to be freely on the list and her "muzzled" so to speak
:o)
I'm sure that Melissa, Mike and Kristy, if they so choose - will do an
outstanding job managing this election.
Best wishes,
Nathan Zipfel
