Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Bill I have been getting several of these things, I DO NOT open them, just
send them to the fed gov to see if they are a virus, and then block the
sender, and delete the thing. I can not imagine why my programs are not
catching these things, I update them weekly, I even went to a place on the
web that will check for virus's and that one did not find them either, and I
knew they were in the email folder--Helen

FYI:
http://www.founddogtags.com
"This site has been created for the purpose of returning dog tags found from
Vietnam to their respective families. In the near future we expect to have a
complete list of all the recovered dog tags."

In my haste yesterday, I forgot to mention that our own ASC, Nate Zipfel, is
the new Northeast/North Central State Coordinator Representative. He will
serve a one year term, replacing Rich Howland who resigned in the spring.
Congrats, Nate - You'll do a super job!
Ellen
Ellen,
glad you're back..... that's the great thing about vacations.....

Subject: [MSGEN] Election Results
Hi, Folks -
I'm trying hard to play catch-up on the mail. Been out of pocket for a few
days - first mail problems, then a quick trip to the Smokys, where I spent
entirely too much money. <g>
Results of the National Election have come in. Affecting MSGenWeb
directly:
National Coordinator - There will be a run-off between Holly Timm and
Richard
Harrison
Representative At Large - There will be a run-off between Richard M. Howland
and Teresa Lindquist
Southeast/Mid-Atlantic State Coordinator Representative -
Tim Stowell (Ran Unopposed - 2 year Term)
Southeast/Mid-Atlantic County Coordinator Representatives -
Diane Montgomery Parsons (1 yr Term)
and
Ron Eason (2 yr Term)
Full results and more information can be found at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgwelections/electionresults.html
New representatives will not be subbed to MSGEN-L or MSCHAT-L, so please
bookmark the following sites for future reference, should you ever wish to
contact your rep:
List of Representatives w/E-Mail ID -
http://www.usgenweb.net/about/whoswho.html
Information re represtentive mail lists:
http://www.usgenweb.net/official/regionmail.html
Thanks,
Ellen

Hi all,
Looking for a "sane" way to get all my information from Family Tree Maker to
my personal website. Has anyone done this? I've done the publishing from
FTM, but it just places the "bare bones" on FTM's site... and I want MORE!!
(photos, scanned deeds, stories, etc).
Anyone know of a semi-automated way of doing this? I use Microsoft Front
Page for all my authoring.
THANKS!
Stacey Cox

Hi, Clare -
I'm not very good at this sort of thing, but there are a few online sites that
can help identify the time period a photo was taken. I found several links on
About.com:
http://genealogy.about.com/cs/photodating/
Good luck!
