Subject: [USGENWEB-DISCUSS] PLEDGE DRIVE

For those of you who are not on the USGENWEB-ALL list, I made the
following
posting last evening in response to a suggestion by Alley Blackford.
(And
I'm pleased to report that, thus far, 19 Project members have responded
affirmatively with pledge amounts.)
*****
Should the USGW Advisory Board decide to (1) protest the USGenWeb
Archives
mark filing, (2) file for the USGenWeb mark, (3) file for the USGenWeb
Project mark, (4) adopt any combination of the first three, or (5) take
any
other action with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, it's going to
require
funding.
And the USGenWeb bank account is mighty low, I hear. (NOTE: Attempt at
humor here. I realize USGW has NO bank account. Not even a coffee
fund.<G>)
Joe Zsedeny has pledged on BOARD-L to contribute a minimum of $1 to a
maximum of $50 toward whatever action (if any) the Board might choose to
take with the USPTO regarding the trademark/word mark issue. (If 325
CC's
were to contribute a buck each, that would cover the cost of one filing.
And it would show that action on this issue is widely supported.)
I would like to match this pledge ($1 minimum and $50 maximum), and I
invite any other Project members who would like to make a pledge (for
whatever amount) to send their pledges to this list. NOTE: Please put
PLEDGE in the Subject Line. I would request that Joe keep track of
names,
e-mail addresses, and amounts of pledges.
Should the Board decide to take USPTO action that would require funding,
hopefully by that point enough pledges will have been made to cover the
costs. And at such a point, the Board could instruct all of us who have
made pledges as to where to send the bucks (presumably the person
designated by the Board to pay the necessary filing and/or protest
fees).

If you make copies email me privately and I'll give you the address

Hi, Barb -
If it'll help, here are the three flyers I've made for my counties:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~msadams/flyers/flyer-adams.htmhttp://www.rootsweb.com/~msadams/flyers/flyer-wilkinson.htmhttp://www.rootsweb.com/~msadams/flyers/flyer-swterr.htm
They are a bit slow loading because I didn't design them for web use.
Feel free to plagiarize as much as you would like. <G>

Okay guys, help this overwhelmed lady.
What are you guys doing up for your counties? I could use some general
guidance. I am starting the school year (I homeschool) and starting a
series of genealogy classes for the Dames of Ole Miss; so I am alittle
lost at the moment.

Hi ya'll,
The genie fair page is up
at http://www.rootsweb.com/~msgenweb/geniefair/begin.html
It has maps, layout of building, info on fair for us. Info on Motel, how
to contact me (other than email) For mailing flyers or how to find us when
you get there.
I am considering all of us eating at Ryans Steakhouse in Pearl or maybe
Crackerbarrel or O'Charley's. I Want to find somewhere that has a variety
and can hold a rowdy bunch! <grin> I plan for us to get together for
Friday night supper and Saturday Supper for sure and I am sure we will do
Breakfast Saturday am. We could hit all three!!
Anyway, suggestions anyone???
Later,
Linda

Have just learned that there are others whose votes are incorrect also,
including at least one who is shown voting in both elections (altho no
vote was cast in the regular election) and showing that the runoff vote
was for the one not voted for!!!!!!
Please, please check your votes!
