I'm wondering if anyone knows of a list burials at Henry cemetery in Alcorn county. I have been told my great great grandmother was buried at the corinth baptist church cemetery but I just found out that none of the four corinth baptist churches have their own cemetery. I do not have a year of death or anything else to go by other than she was Mary Matilda Lett Boover Lindley. I'm not sure which last name she was actually using at time of death. She may have been called Tilde. I'm told her grave was unmarked. Is there a listing of grave locations and who is in each grave even though no headstone exists? I would think there would be.
I'm new to the list and desperately hoping someone can help me out with this information. After MONTHS of research I have just learned that my great great grandmother Matilda was buried in Corinth. My long lost cousin said it was Corinth Baptist Church and that he visited the cemetery not long ago but couldn't find her grave. He said he use to know exactly where it was at but with the years he has forgotten. The grave is possibly unmarked. Would there be a church record of her funeral and burial even though the grave is unmarked?
Her name was Mary Matilda Lett Boover and possibly Lindley. I'm not sure how she got to be in Corinth other than we have heard rumor she may have been living with or married to a Jack Lindley. I'm sorry I do not have a year of death or possible marriage. I do know she was born in 1848/1849 but not in that area. I know she had given birth to her first child around 1878 and had at least two others prior to that. I'm guessing early 1900's and I wouldn't think past 1950 and that is giving her 100 years to live. She is said to have been at least one half native american indian/ possibly full blood.
If anyone has any information on Jack Lindley or Mary Matilda or about church burial/funeral records I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks so much
