Hi List,
I have a query with respect to my 2 x greatgrandmother
In 1894 Mary Belt of Bonville's Court, Begelly,Pembrokeshire married John
Davies of Trecelyn(Newbridge) Mynyddislwyn, Monmouthshire at Sardis Chapel
near Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire.
Both were aged 37, John was a widower and although Mary was listed as a
spinster she had actually given birth to my greatgrandfather 18 years
earlier, which is where my line descends.
I believe John & Mary moved to Newbridge after the marriage and there I seem
to have lost her - I'm not sure if they had children from the marriage,
mainly because of Mary's age, but one never knows.
Also the BELT family does have links with the Mynyddislwyn area as Mary's
brother Charles Belt has a son (Ivor Brynmor) born there in 1900, also two
of her sisters moved to Monmouthshire namely Esther Ann Belt (married name
Bevan from 1900) and also Elizabeth (married name BULL from 1894).
If anyone has connections or can help in my quest for Mary Davies(nee Belt)
then I would be most greatful
Regards
Kevin
