Fellow Genealogists,
In the Bishops' Transcripts for the Diocese of Llandaff, Monmouth,
1725-1812, for the year 1785, there is an Oct. 27 entry for
the baptism of Edward, son of ________ by Mary his wife. If you have
access to this document and can decipher the name, please let me know.
If you wish, I can e-mail you a copy of it.
My ancestor Edward EVANS was born about 1786. As a widower, he
married a widow Hannah JARRET on 23 Sep 1816 in Risca. Hannah's Maiden
name, as far as I can determine, was COSLET. Edward was buried on 3 Oct
1840 in Risca.
In the Bishops' Transcripts for Risca, I have recently found the
marriage of Edward EVANS, bachelor, and Mary EDWARDS, spinster, on 17
Mar 1811. In the same record, Mary, daughter of Edward and Mary EVANS
was baptized on 30 Mar 1814 and was buried, at the age of 16 months on
12 Jul 1815. I have copies of these records.
All of the above seems to tie together. I would appreciate receiving
any information you may have concerning any of the above persons or events.
