Sorry, I sent this message last evening, forgetting to sign it. Here it is
again, corrected, with my signature. --
I recently checked the microfiche ([#25]) Holy Trinity Parish Church,
Christchurch - for "my" Thomas YOUNG, a resident of Monmouthshire in the
early 1800s - without any luck. The M.I. might help someone else, however,
also researching the surname YOUNG. The inscription was recorded and typed
by David Woolven in Summer 1985 and published by Gwent Family History
Society as M.I. # 25.
'Section B. 29.s - "In / Memoriam of Thomas Young / of Somerton Farm in
this parish / Departed this life Friday the 5th of August 1823 / aged 78
Years. (verse) Also / In memoriam of Mary Relict of the / Aforesaid Thos.
Young / Departed this / Life April 14th 1830 / Aged 78 Years. Also / In
memoriam of Solomon Young, / Youngest son of the aforesaid / Thomas and Mary
Young departed / This life March 24th 1854 / Aged 65 Years."
