Is anyone interested in the Phillips families set out below?
Mary Phillips married Lemuel Charles in 1867 in Panygam Baptist Church, Pontypool. Mary
was the daughter of David Phillips, who was apparently still alive at that time. I have
found a birth in 1842 in Gelligroes, Mynyddlswyn, the daughter of David Phillips and Maria
Price. They were not married and Maria registered the birth. Is anyone else interested
in this family? The points I am trying to establish are that "my" Mary was the
daughter of this David and Maria, and whether or not David and Maria ever married. Any
assistance gratefully received!
Mary Phillips, who was born between about 1800-1810 had three children, Watkin Moses (b
1835) (who sometimes turns up as Watkin Philips), Lemuel Charles was born in 1839, the son
(apparently) of Thomas Charles, and Elizabeth Philips (b 1846). Mary was never married.
She had a sister, Rachel (born 1817) who had a daughter Margaret in 1842, also without
benefit of husband. Is anyone else interested in this family? Does anyone know of a
Phillips family c 1810 which contained daughters Mary and Rachel? (not particularly rare
names, I will admit!)
If anyone recognises the people above, please do get in touch.
(I know nothing about any of the multitude of other Phillips families in Mynyddslwyn or
elsewhere.)
