Hello All,
While at the BBC ( British Broadcasting Corporation for you overseas ex-
pats;) Roadshow yesterday the Beeb (pet word for BBC) were handing out
business cards advertising their new website for Wales. The 'newly'
constructed site has a family history menu for South East Wales at
present. The url is:-
www.bbc.co.uk/wales/southeast/
There is a southwest and northwest Wales site but no link available for
family history in that area as yet!
The Southeast Wales is defined as:- " From Bridgend to Blaenavon,
Cardiff to Caerleon, Merthyr to Monmouth, the whole regions covered"
Obviously still in it's infancy it is pretty basic. There is a message
board, Ken Morley " from Valleys to Vegas", Can you help?, look up your
genes, web guide, tapping sources, son of my father (patronymic naming)
local history (family memories). No doubt it will get bigger and better!
all the best
Barrie Jones
