Great idea. Does anyone out there have the census for 1841 handy and could see who the
butcher is in Tredegar.
Thanks for the tip.

Jill I have ancestors that were weavers and became shopkeepers, I
also have
others in labourer jobs and when their father or uncle in some
cases passed
on they took over that profession so it could well be that a miner
ended up
a butcher especially if he took it over from a retired or deceased
relativeof his or his wifes. In the 1841 who were the butchers in
that villiage and
in 1851 are these same people butchers?
I hope I haven't totally confused you but this is just MHO.

Ann,
The end of your message was missing. I am responding to what I
did get.
I had the same question about weither they are the same Thomas or
not but
the address is the same and I was told that some miners saved up
and as they
got older they couldn't work in the mines as well and changed
professions. What are your thoughts. If the address wasn't the
same, I would question it
further, the names of the wife and daughter are right. Something
is not on
the up and up, like I said, I am haveing a heep of trouble sorting
this out.
