Ebbw Vale Branch of Gwent Family History Society has invited John Evans
to be our guest speaker at Bethel Schoolroom, Beaufort on Thursday 24th
July 2003. The talk is entitled " Overview of Blaenavon", which promises
to be both instructive and extremely interesting.
John Evans has played a major role in the efforts that have culminated
in Blaenavon achieving World Heritage status.
This will be our last meeting until September 11th which, is our
research evening. Saturday 13th September we will be visiting the early
industrial site at Tintern and the Dean centre after lunch. Our Branch
expert, Rodger Burchell, has researched this area well and will replace
his Field Studies that we traditionally hold on the fourth Thursday of
July on the subject of Beaufort Iron Works, Clydach Iron works, Rassau
Walk, etc.
Anyone wishing to attend at Tintern can contact me at my email address
or at our secretary Eric Smiths Email address:- shirlanderic(a)aol.com
best regards
