Hi Anita
Not sure if fathers trade would be in a directory, but might be I guess. His
name was Charles CHRISTELOW and he was a boiler smith or boiler maker. He
travelled a lot and his children were born in Aberdare, Abersychan,
Cwmbran, Monmouth, Penarth and Swansea, so pinning him down has been
difficult (especially as the surname is often misspelt!!) Local county
office is in Cwmbran isn't it? I don't live far from there, perhaps me or my
wife can get there at some point over the summer holidays. When we moved
here I had no idea we had family connections to the area and so now we are
here I am very curious to find out which house my great grandmother was
born. It would be great to point it out to the children, as we go down the
street regularly.

John
If Elizabeth's father was in trade and paid for an entry in the local
trade
directory it is likely to give the house number in the street. Trade
directories should be available at the local County Record Office, which
is
likely to be Gwent Record Office. Maybe a group member with local access
can help if you could add father's name and trade.
Regards
Anita
