Hi Mike
I just can't resist remarking on this problem.
Here in the local FHC they have had to put some of the
films behind the desk also. People were ordering film
and taking it home as they thought they had bought it.
Like shop lifting, we all pay for it in the end with higher prices.
Films now went from $5.00 to $5.50. Not a lot but
someone has to pay for these items.
Good Luck finding them. Lorraine Ottawa, Canada

Subject: [Mon] Missing Fiche (stolen)
Hi All,
I have made the journey to Newport Library today, which is rare for me
because
always seems to be working.
However I found what I was looking for quickly, for a change, I
thought
all I would look at the 1901 census returns for the areas that interest me.
It seems that you have to ask for the fiche at the counter because someone
has been stealing them and you guessed it, the fiche I wanted had gone.
The fiche in question is not a for part of a town but for some rather
small
villages in the lower Usk valley
Bullmore and Kemeys Inferior. RG13/4953 25/27. It would be nice to
the
think that it was an oversight on behalf of the last user but I'm afraid I
have my doubts, more like it's a selfish individual who thinks nobody is
researching their family history but them.
So keep a lookout everybody for Fiche that people might have got bored
with as the
Librarian informs me that
BMD fiche have walked as well. I know that people buy and own fiche
for
their research but you will all have
to decide if you are offered any fiche if they are legal or not.
ANN SORRY ABOUT THE RANT
Normally mild mannered Mike Jones from Chepstow.
