You should straighten the page first. You could also
close the black part and make it white.

You could also crop it. I do this in Photoshop all the time. The
black is
caused because the page is centered in the picture. If you crop down, you'
d remove most of it at least, leaving only enough to compensate for
off-angle pages, or ragged edges.
