Hi To All, I have had to send this e-mail, even though it is so late, I have found out
that one of my FOTHERGILL relations from Monmouth RUPERT L. FOTHERGILL born about 1876.
Was a head ranger in Lake Kariba Zambezi Valley in about 1958-61, he helped save over five
thousand animals from drowning, after an artificial dam had been built. It was called
Operation Noah, they were obviously so grateful for this, they named an island after him.
FOTHERGILL ISLAND. I have been in tears, when I thought what an incredible achievement he
has done, in saving all those animals. And also having an island named after you, well it
does'nt get much better than that, does it??
You all on here, have been so helpful and friendly, I have had to share this special
moment with you. Because if it was'nt for you all, I would not have found this
information, it would have been lost to me for ever. THANK YOU THANK YOU. I am very proud
to be connected to this Rupert Fothergill. Many thanks Pauline
YIPPEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
