Hello there,
I'm new to this List, and hope that someone will be able to kindly tell me they have
spotted a Gwilym ISAAC, my lost great, great uncle in the Tredegar area, on the 1901
census.
Ten years earlier on the 1891 census at Ferndale, Rhondda, Glam; he shows up with his
family:-
Gwilym ISAAC, aged 31, coalminer. Born Llwydcoed, Aberdare, Glamorgan.
Ann, aged 29, wife. Born Monmouth, Rymney.
Willie, son, 2 years, born Ferndale, Glamorgan.
Then, by 1901, Gwilym and his family have left Ferndale.
They may possibly have returned to the area where his wife was born.
This Gwilym's eldest brother, Rees ISAAC, lived in Monmouthshire for years with his
wife, Maria, who was born in Tredegar, Mon;. They returned with 8 sons to Ferndale, where
I caught up with them again in 1901. I thought he had died, or emigrated!
It is just possible that Gwilym and Ann Isaac, along with young Willie, joined his brother
Rees Isaac in Tredegar, since both wives were born in Monmouthshire.
I would really appreciate some help on this one, if it's at all
possible.
Thanking you in anticipation, and hoping,
Cheers, Dilys in Essex
