Hi Deirdre,
Have you tried this link for Parry Families:-
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/im.griffiths/parryfamilyhistory/parryhome.h
tm
It is the website of Barbara Griffiths who is trying to collate all the
Parry families who ever lived.
There was a 'famous' Charles Parry in Ebbw Vale, Monmouthshire. This
Charles wrote an Essay for an Eisteddfod in 1855 on Ebbw Vale History.
Much of Charles Parry's work has been copied by many people since his
essay. He won 3 pounds for his effort although the essay give facts of
Ebbw Vale history which would be unknown if not for Charles!
Ebbw Vale Branch of Gwent Family History Society have been lucky to have
Janet Karn of Blaenau Gwent Libraries transcribe the original. We will
be bringing it out as a publication shortly. Not sure of Charles
Pedigree. I don't think local historian and author Keith Thomas would
know of his pedigree, unfortunately.
best regards

Shw Mae!
Greetings from Kensington, sunny South Australia.
I am seeking information about my great-great grandfather, Charles Parry.
He was born in Monmouth(shire), South Wales in 1829, son of one Thomas Parry,
and emigrated to Australia in 1853 from Liverpool, aboard the "Naederland en
Orange".
Occupation, customs officer.
What I am looking for, (and hoping to find), is information about his parents
and whether or not he had any siblings.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated,
Diolch yn Fawr,
Deirdre Anthoney-McCulloch.
