Me again
There is a youtube film about William Alfred Lewis, known as Dripping Lewis
who was murdered on 24th May 1939. He lived at Plasmont, Pontypool.
There is also a book written about him which may be worth following up if
Sarah is your relation.

There is a link here to a story in the Free Press about the murder

_strange_case_of_who_killed_Dripping_Lewis_/
Mr Lewis had a sister Miriam (Pritchard) who was one of the executors to
Sarah's will, so the same family, but is it yours?
He also left a substantial amount of money.
Sarah Ann Lewis was living with her mother Miriam and siblings in Plasmont
in 1901 and with Miriam and Alfred Pritchard in Law Courts? Hotel, Cardiff
in 1911.

Subject: [MON] Wills and Probate - help wanted
G'day everyone
I have been keeping a very low profile over the last year or so although I
still read the postings with interest. As is so often the case in genealogy
I need help to solve a problem. Quite by chance I came across a reference to
Sarah Ann Lewis which could be my great grandmother.
Let me make it clearer. I lost sight of her after the 1901 Census. She is
one of the numerous Lewis family from Pontypool who bore a son, my
grandfather. He was brought up as her brother as she was only 17 when he was
born and there were numerous siblings younger than her. A family story has
her marrying a wealthy, ex-military officer whose name has never been
mentioned. She was born about 1860 and the reference has a Sarah Ann Lewis,
spinster, late of Plasmont, Monmouthshire, who died on
21 October 1936. Her will was executed and a notice in the London Gazette
gives a date of 1 April 1937 for full probate. Is there a way in which I can
obtain a copy of her will? What I want to know is, first is it my long-lost
grandmother and second, if it is her, where had she been all those years
since 1916 when her son died, leaving a widow and two sons? I know from my
late father that they had a difficult childhood and if family stories are
correct she was a well off woman.
Can anyone help?
Regards
