Hi Don
I've just had a look at the 1883 and 1920 maps for Barrack (sic) Hill at
www.old-maps.co.uk , and the only houses built at that time were at either
end of the road, the eastern end nearer the town centre, and around the
Barracks at the western end, in what is now Allt-yr-yn View, where there is
now a Territorial Army Centre. If Nevada really was the name of the house it
wasn't listed on the map, and none of the houses in the area looks large
enough to have a name, rather than a number.

I just received a birth registration for a birth of James William Henry
Crowhurst in Newport, 22 March 1908 and it gives the address as Nevada
Barrick Hill, Newport.
What is Nevada?
