Hi Kevin
Yes, I do agree with you that one can get back to about the
mid-late 1700's then it is tough going. After 20 years of research
and a few lines back to 1764-1795 I have decided to just fill in
the blanks that I can and read all about the life they lead.
Some people may have families that kept good records before
1800 but I agree these are few and far between.
Most records are just not there.

Come on lads....let's call a spade a spade! We can get past pre
1837 ok.
We
can check church records to a certain degree c. 1780's maybe.
After that
we
are kidding ourselves! Why do some of us feel we need to get back as
far
as
possible? I'd rather know my lot mid 1800's inside out than
guess the
rest!they are equally important to me whether they are Ag Lab's or from
the
lost tribe of Pwhelli! Regards, Kevin, Co Cork,Irl.
