I am sure that your JOHNSON family has to be related to my husband's
JOHNSON family because of this Jarvis/Jervis/ Gervase name that keeps
cropping up. I cannot connect our JOHNSONs to any of the other names you
sent to the list but that could be because they descend from a different
line.
We have a tree that goes back to John JOHNSON and Amey DARK who are
thought to have married sometime in the 1770/80s and the line of descent
for Colin's Grandmother comes from John's son Richard JOHNSON and Mary
THOMAS who married in St Philip & St Jacobs parish Church November 21
1824 - information from Gwyneth Clark.
One of the things we keep being told about these JOHNSONs is that
Jarvis/Jervis/Gervase is a family name. Even though there is only one on
the tree that was given to us and that one is Colin's great grandfather
Gervase Benson JOHNSON. I have a lot of stuff I can send you if you
think it will be relevant.
