Hi David,
I would also recommend a book by David Williams, John Frost: A study in
Chartism. In addition there are eye witness reports in some of the
newspapers of the time which were reporting on the hearings of people
arrested after the riots. If your 3g grandfather was arrested there may be a
report.

Hi All
Family history has it that my 3g grandfather hid some of the rioters in his
pub celler in Devon Place in Newport.
Does anyone know of an in depth on-line report. I have found short
histories, but none to any depth. If there is no on-line sites could any
one recommend a good book about it.
Thanks
David HB
