I am trying to trace some members of the family tree and I was wondering whether any one
could possibly help me.
My Grandfather was Charles James Howells of Abergavenny and he was born in 1868.
He had 2 brothers and a sister, all younger. Arthur John, Albert Edward and Emma Ada.
I have found out that both their parents sadly died young [early 30's]and this meant
the children were consequently 'farmed out' around the year 1886 or thereafter.
I have not been able to trace the family of
Albert Edward Howells{born Abergavenny 1875}but believe that on the 1891 census he is
listed as aged 15, coalminer and adopted son of Virginia and Watkin Jones. 18 High Street,
Trevethin, Garndiffaith[Pontypool]
Also Emma Ada Howells born 1878.
She is listed in the census as aged 12, born Abergavenny, Scholar at Mullers Orphan House,
Bristol. But I am told that she later returned to Abergavenny.
Does any of these names appear in your family tree? If so, then I would dearly love to
hear from you.And I thank you most sincerely for reading this Email.
Kind Regards,
Andrea Nolan[Howells]
