Hello Bev
In 1891 the whole family is listed as having been born in Usk:
Amos, 65; Margaret, 62; Alfred, 24; Annie, 18.
Going back to 1851 census index:
HO107/2450 Folio 184 Gwehellog [Usk and Llangibby sub-district]
WHEELER, Amos, 24
Ephraim, 17
Isaiah, 1
Mary, 27
There is another group of WHEELERs in the same census:
Folio 163 - Usk
Eliza, 47
John, 52
Lydia, 13
and a Miriam, 15 in Usk but not with any of the above. I see that Amos called one of his
daughters "Miriam".
There is a possible marriage for John and Eliza in the MON Marriage Index:
WHEELER, John [Wid] /Elizabeth MORGAN both of Monmouth, 6 November 1825 at
Monmouth. Which looks like a nice match for the birth of Amos in 1827?

Hi,
I was wondering if someone would know if this information is
correct or if I have the wrong birth.
I found this family in the 1881 Census for Monmouth,
Amos WHEELER, Age 54, Born Staunton, Gloucester, Occupation:
Chairmaker.
I have found a birth on Family Search:
Amos WHEELER, 11 Dec 1826, Mary Street Independent, Monmouth.
I am wondering if this could be the right person because of where he
was born. Amos did marry and live in Usk, Monmouth.
Any help I would be most grateful for.
Bev Simmonds,
Asutralia.
