Just returned from a couple of weeks away and had a mail bag full;
after
sorting through all this on two lists I end up with 51 queries with no
responses; this is so unfortunate for novice researchers such as myself
as there is so much knowledge to be gained and we can continue to learn
from other people's responses, ideas and suggestions. These 51 queries,
without the replies, serve very little purpose to anyone other than the
sender so it would be great for everyone if all responses are sent to
the list.
I'd like to endorse that.
I've lost count of the number of times I've noticed that there hasn't been
a reply to a query on the list, have done a bit of research and posted an
answer, only to be told "Thanks, but I've already had a lot of replies to
that question off list".
I'm now reluctant to reply to any questions that I think may already have
been answered.
We can all learn from each other, even the more experienced researchers,
so if you are replying to a question please, please copy the answer to the
list as well as to the individual concerned.
