Hello,
I have recently returned to my ancestors William Howell and Joan John of Rumney, Parish to
see if there might be some new records available or some breakthrough on finding more
about his family.
Joan John was born sometime between 1755 and 1765 and the only record we have is that she
married William Howell 23 May, 1785 in Rumney Parish and it says she is "of Rumney
Parish" on the marriage.
She had children William, Edward, Reynold, Isaac, and Sara from 1785-1799. We have
christenings for all of them from St. Augustine's church records. Joan died 24
November 1810 in Rumney.
Husband William Howell was from St. Mellons parish and was christened 4 Oct. 1747. Died
Rumney-William HOWELL of Rumney Village buried 18 March 1825 aged 77. Not sure how he
ended up in Rumney to marry Joan since his whole family was in St. Mellons.
Therefore we wonder if this was Joan's family parish and have been searching for her
family.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thank you for your time,
Karen
