Can you ALL please put subject lines (preferably with Name or Place) in
your emails as there is a lot of virus emails about on other lists and I
don't like to open emails with (no subject) or dubious non gen content.

Hi Patricia
Can't help with specific detail but I think this is the parents' marriage:
Name: SMYTH, Thomas
Registration district: Newport (Monmouthshire)
County: Shropshire
Year of registration: 1851
Quarter of registration: Apr-May-Jun
Volume no: 26
Page no: 206
Martha WALL also on the same page - the only instance of these two names in
the whole BMD
I couldn't find the family in the 1861 census

Martha (Margaret) Smyth (Smith) was born 1 August 1853 somewhere near
Tredegar as she was baptised in the Catholic Church there. Her sister Ann
was born about 1858 and possibly a brother Joseph was born about 1856-1857.
No place of birth known for these two.
Their parents were Thomas Smyth (Smith) and Martha Wall.
