Hello
With so many people now prowling about the 1841 census, I would
really appreciate knowing if anyone comes across this family
while searching for their own.
The father, James was a Coachman and I believe he travelled about
and suspect I have found him staying in Bristol. There is also a James
Ellaway that died in 1849 and finding the rest of the family in 1841
would help to put these James Ellaway items together.
Ellen was widowed on the 1851 census and she died in Newport in 1859.
The family could have been left in Newport in the 1841 census and
hence she decided to return there after 1851. Even if their names came
up on an index would put me in the right direction.
I now suspect in 1841 there should be
Ellen / Helen ELLAWAY abt 35 / 36
Edwin abt 10 / 11 - may have died by this time ??
Helen abt 9
Walter James abt 4 / 5
Adelaide / Addie abt 2
Laura may not have been born as yet but age 11
on 1851 census
So many people have sent me 1841 numbers which I have been able to
check out but none are this family. I have found James brother Edward
and family, as Edward stayed around Bristol with his tailor business.
Just thought I would mention them once more as people are looking about.
Just hope someone spots them. Thank You
Lorraine Ottawa, Canada
