A special thanks to Kathy Nemaric, C Beatie, and Patti Dyer for their
replies about Henry MEREDITH. It now looks like:
1. He was born about 1819 in Clodock, Herefordshire and was one
of three children in the family christened/baptized there in 1825.
2. He was a teenager at Clyro, Radnorshire with his parents when
1841 census was taken.
3. He married the first time before 1851 according to 1851
census for Liverpool (taken in March).
4. Left for America, arriving in April 1851.
5. Was on 1860 census in California, U.S.A.
6. Had children born in California (maybe 1855, 1862, etc.) with
a wife named Margaret.
7. Returned to Great Britain by 1869 when he married Anne Hamer
in Hay, Breconshire.
8. By 1873 he was in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, according to
1881 census record.
9. Probably died in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire 1894.
With their additional clues, I hope to now be able to find him on the
1871 and 1891 census records next week when the local Family History is
open again. Thanks so much for your help and suggestions.
