(my teen daughter needs her dad and my oldest daughter is due to
deliver my second grand child)
which is why I have been backlogging looks ups in my gmail account
for future attention when I get there.

Was the straw which broke the camel's back
I received an email on Aug 10 asking what had happened
so I created Monfh2 in order to try and keep Mike's community together
some of us telephoned Mike
and later that date I replied

get a webemail form

(1)
I would like to see Welsh Families group run on a democratic basis
like Flags of the World
mailing list
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/flags
Members: 857
Category: Trivia
Founded: Jul 12, 1998 but it existed on another server MajorDomo long
before that until the spammers found us
Description
The Flags of the World Mailing List is the official Mailing List of
the Flags of the World web site (main mirror:
http://fotw.net/).
Please read the rules before posting.
Note: The pages of the Flags of the World web site are compiled from
contributions to this mailing list, but that the process is in no way
automatic and many times not particularly swift.
FOTW was originally established by Giuseppe Bottasini, and devoted to
vexillology.
http://fotw.net/
Flags of the World (FOTW) is the Internet's largest site devoted to
vexillology (the study of flags). Here you can read more than 28,000
pages about flags and view more than 52,000 images of flags.
members elect the leader every year

(2) is a web site a good idea?
again organised democratically
eg
http://www.genuki.org.uk/
Enter this large collection of genealogical information pages for
England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man.
or
http://www.walesgenweb.com/
The WalesGenWeb Project is in need of volunteers to host query boards,
provide look-up resources, transcribe data, help with archival
research and more...
I look after
http://users.rootsweb.com/~wlsmer/index.html
more county stuff
http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=localities.bri...
you may post images and data there too
so why invent the wheel?

(3) an annual bunfight
The first time you meet group members off line can feel a bit scary,
but in fact with strong common interests and experience as online
debaters, you will get on like a house on fire.
It would be best if a group of local Gwent residents organised this
so what do you think ?
food for thought
