In 1821 the population was 3008 and there were 531 inhabited houses and 626
families. 9 houses were being built and 52 were unoccupied. In 1841 the
population was 3360. In 1851 it was 4332.

death, he put her parents "unknown", birthplace England. Not a great help
!! I have even checked a few of the children's birth certificates for a
more detailed birthplace, but they are all the same so far.
I am thinking about getting the microfilm of the 1841 Census for Chepstow,
and having a browse through, but I am put off because I don't know how big
Chepstow was. There were at least three schools listed in the
Pigots/Kellys about that time.
