G'day John,
Today I received the following information back from my distant
relative, hope it helps in some way.
Hi
Today I went to look at the Chapels in Crumlin: one,
Bethel Baptist Chapel is still in use as a chapel and
is on the road from Crumlin to Hafodyrynys (Pontypool)
I looked at the stones which had names on them but
could find none with the name Hughes. The chapel was
built in 1905.
The other chapel is the Wesleyan Chapel built in 1899
and is on the hill from Crumlin known as Hillside.
There are many stones but none bearing the name
Hughes. It is no longer used as a chapel.
Kind regards,
Betty Flood

Hello list, lovely morning!
Can SKS familiar with Crumlin, tell me if there is still a Chapel on
Crumlin Hill;
and if possible when it was built?
I ask because I believe that a couple of paternal gt uncles may have
laid the
foundation stones!
Their names Llewelyn Price Hughes and Arthur Price Hughes.
Of course I could be wrong.
Kind regards
John Richardson
