Hi Patti,
I'm not familiar with Caerleon or your Samuel Whitnum, but I am interested
in your surname DYER. My g-g-grandmother was Ann Dyer born in Frome,
Somerset in 1835. Ann married Thomas Powell, born 1827 in Ross,
Herefordshire.

Subject: [MON] Caerleon-Whitnum
Hi All,
I'm new to this list and my main interest is in Caerleon. My 2nd great
grandfather was born there in 1825. His name was Samuel Whitnum. I found
this bit of information on the 1851 Census where he lived in Kidderminister,
WOR with his wife, Charlotte Biggs (b. 1827 Welsh Pool, Montgomeryshire d.
1876 Brooklyn, NY) and my great grandfather William (b. 1849 Hoo Brook,
WOR). According to Samuel and Charlotte's marriage certificate, Samuel's
father was also named Samuel and was a tin man. I've visited the website
and have seen the 2 manufacturing plants in the area at that time. I can't
find the family in the 1841 Census but I was wondering if there were any
records on the workers from the factories?
Thanks in advance for any information,
Patti Dyer, NJ, USA
